1. Know the principles of ecological classification, associated terminology and classification methods used in Lebanon (Levels of vegetation, phytoecology revision course).
2. Knowing stratification, edaphic characteristics, and microclimate of the main forest ecosystems (by forest type in Lebanon: pine, cedar, maquis, garrigue riparian vegetation, etc.).
3. Understand the natural dynamics of these ecosystems and the effects of natural or anthropological disturbances (type climate change, fire, urbanization ...)
4. Understand how forest management interventions have impacts on forest ecosystems.

Meaning and principles of forest ecology
The effect of abiotic factors on the forest
The action of the environment on the forest
Structures of forest and Vertical and Horizontal Forests.
Main forest ecosystems (in Lebanon):
Each section will focus on the following: climate, soil and distribution, composition and stratification, specific aspects of the functioning of the ecosystem, natural dynamics, disturbance effects, examples of evolutionary series
Content of LAB:
LAB consists of outings to the major forest ecosystems of Lebanon.
The purpose of field trips: to self-familiarizing with the ecological observation and phyto-sociological records using the main elements of the FAO methodology (FRA) for ecological records and their use to compare sites.
