Objective

Knowledge of accidents in the lithosphere leading to the establishment of tectonic structural and regional styles. Application of geological dynamics in Lebanon.

Content

Introduction - Plate Tectonics - oceanic subduction accretion and collision. Elementary accidents : faults, folds, overlap, thrusts. Study of these accidents at geometric and dynamic levels. Structural styles: base, coverage (covering, coating, ...) Regional styles; examples: Pyrenees, Switzerland-franco-italian Alps, the Andes-L; Europe; synthesis through crises: Precambrian Caledonian, Hercynian-Alpine -orogenicTheories-Geodynamics of Lebanon. LAB and TS: 1. Study of Geological Mapping: Topography and geological map reading. Horizontal structure - Sub-horizontal structure – Monocline structure, Anticline structure- Syncline structure - Structure Pleated S) - Structure gaillée. 2. Films Tecto-orogenesis. 3. Field trip
