Objective

Within the continuity in the teaching of animal physiology L3 constituting a basic training in electrophysiology, this course aims to develop the physiological mechanisms as well as the pharmacological and molecular aspects of the functioning of the central nervous system. This course that is strongly advised to M1 students in animal biology and biochemistry is essential to validate the fundamental training of basic biology. The objective of this course is to provide skills needed for the preparation of masters in different orientations in animal biology and biochemistry; referred to neuroscience research as referred to professional secondary education (this training constitutes a main axis), careers in sectors of the pharmaceutical industry (research, production and marketing), hospital and university careers like research assistants, etc. ..)

Content

A. Physiology of Central Nervous System (CNS). Plasticity of CNS - Neurotransmitters. B. Motor behaviour : Regulation of motricity C. C-integration functions of the brain: Learning - Memories - instinctive and emotional behaviors - Biological rhythms etc .... D. Electrochemical and molecular aspects of sensoial influx transduction. LAB: Pharmacology of synapses in the CNS and PNS: Signalizations and measurements of neurochemical phenomena using software- Exploration of neuromuscular synapse: role of receptors: effects of agonists and antagonists- Modulation of excitability and conductibility of peripheral nerve: effect of a local anesthetic. T.S. : Under all concepts covered in this course - Analysis of documents dealing with: CNS pathologies, epilepsy, Parkinson's - Behavioral disturbance: drugs accutumance, etc ....
