South Beqaa Area Field Trip

The department of Life & Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese Universitry has organized and conducted a field trip on Thursday 5th of May 2015, to South Beqaa area as a teaching approach to consolidate the theoretical background and emphasize the practical work. The trip was supervised by Dr. Nabil Amacha.

60 students from Geosciences Third Year, and the Environmental Engineering student from Master 1 Plant Biology and Environment. Trip participants gathered at the Faculty of Sciences and took off at around 8:00 a.m.

This field trip compromised certain stations:

  • The first station was at Ammiq Wetland
  • The second station was Kherbit Kanafar where students visited a constructed wetland.

    Litani River Authority (LRA) personnel welcomed the participants and guide them through the wetland explaining the main processes taking place.
